Buhari orders arrest brother-in-law over alleged extortion

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigeria’s security agents to arrest the younger brother of his wife for allegedly extorting money from an unnamed businessman,reports Sahara Reporters.

The suspect, Musa Yola, is the immediate younger brother of Buhari’s wife.

Patience Jonathan’s ex-security aide murdered

Abuja - Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins have shot dead the Principal Security Officer to former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, reports The Nation.

Tamuno Jacob Igbomie was shot at point-blank range in his car by the the unknown assailants.

Igbomie’s corpse was found in his Honda Accord car last Friday along the Airport Road, Abuja.

He was was found early in the morning with all his phones, wallet and other personal effects intact in the car.

Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Force Public Relations Officer,  confirmed the killing and stated that investigation has started  to arrest the assailants.

Igbomie served at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command before he was transferred  to the Presidential Villa as Patience’s  Aide-De-Camp (ADC) when Jonathan was the Vice President.

He was later promoted to the position of PSO to Patience when her husband became the President.

Tragic: Tanker driver burnt to death in road accident

A tanker driver conveying petrol to an unknown destination was on Saturday burnt to death in a road mishap that occurred at the Ovia River head bridge along Benin-Ore-Lagos express road.

Three vehicles including a heavy duty tow truck belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were burnt.

The fire was still on as at press 3.28pm on Saturday.

Officials of the FRSC had to divert motorists going and returning from Lagos to link Benin City through Iguobazuwa road at Okada junction.

Ohakim, who was recently arrested by the EFCC in a statement issued on Saturday, claimed that there had been attempts to smear his name and assassinate him.
